Wet and blustery Elfsteden oldtimer rally.

For our annual Elfsteden oldtimer rally we loaded up the old Allosaurus tow vehicle with all our camping gear and trailer with the Austin Seven and made our camp at our favorite campsite 't Hop in Wijckel.
At the campsite we found old cars and an interesting variety of camper vans, old caravans and tents.

Friday afternoon we were ready for our first run, but a nasty accident canceled the start and we all waited anxiously for more news while all traffic off the field was stopped to make room for the emergency services to arrive. Here's a report about what happened.
We walked back to the tent and waited for more news. The next day the Elfsteden rally was started as planned as the news was that the victims were stable and expected to recover.

 So we were off...
Driving the beautiful roads of Friesland enjoying a mix of sunshine and rainstorms.

Amazing cars everywhere

Very rare vehicles. like this epic Indian
Our Seven needed only marginal tinkering to adjust the clutch, but that only added to the conversation

The towns were crowded with smiling people and the finish in Sloten was no exception. See more photographs here and  here you can see some video we shot from the car..
