After some fiddling with wires and paint the Wolseley finally sports some working rear lights again. Here the rear lights with the orginal British licence plate. The plate is translucent, so it can be lit from behind. Sadly the Dutch plate is not translucent, so I'll have to fit a numberplate light sometime.
Of course the old fittings had rusted out. I found some small trailer light fittings I could use behind the original glass. The round backplate nicely fits the rounded aperture of the old lights
Tried some Led-units earlier, but found the leds were not strong enough
with the fairly dark red glass. Even now the lights are not anywhere
close to blinding followers, so I might mount some additional indicators
or brake lights in place of the reflectors for safety.
