It was a fine Spring day for the Morris Register Spring event.

A random selection of posts about travel and tinkering with mechanical machines. Mostly cars from 1937 to 1999, manufactured in English speaking parts of the world, but also kayaks and sewing machines. So here you can see how we travel, drive, paddle, break fix and find on a regular basis. On a desktop, you can choose your favourite item from the list on the right, choose a page from the menu or simply scroll down to see the latest.

Wolseley 1500 Service, clutch slave and hose
The clutchpedal on the Wolseley 1500 did not feel very consistent. Inspecting the hose showed it to feel a little soft compared to other hoses. While under the car it was a good opportunity to change the oil, grease the suspension and check the brakes.
To be able to fit a standard clutch hose I made up a new pipe with the correct connector to use with a clutch hose.
With the slave cylinder off I decided to hone the bore and replace the seal and rubber.
The hose itself is a Mini front brake hose I had available.
New front tires too, balanced and fitted Friday, 26 April 2024
Wolseley 1500 floor and indicators repair
This old flasher unit suddenly stopped working.
This is the new flasher unit in place. Works fine now.
There was a cracked weld in the floor in both floor pans. A previous repair. Ground out the old weld and re-welded.
