Wolseley 1500 mk1 brochure 1957

Wolseley 1500 was produced from april 1957 to 1965. It utilised the Morris Minor floorpan, suspension and steering but was fitted with the larger 1,489 cc  B-Series engine and MG Magnette gearbox. The car was almost identical to the Riley One Point five, though the Riley was equiped with twin SU carburettors giving it a little more power at 68 hp.

The Postwar range of Austin Cars. Eight, Ten, Twelve and Sixteen Brochure

This is the brochure of the entire post war Austin passenger car range. See if you can spot the differences. They look very similar, but different in size. Who said modern cars look alike?

Austin Sixteen BS1 Brochure

You can call the Austin 16 BN1 the first post war Austin.  Manufactured from 1945 to 1946, it was basically the body of the Austin Twelve with the new 4-cylinder 2199 cc, overhead-valve engine fitted. This made the 16 BS1 the first Austin saloon car with an overhead valve engine.  This was quite a strong engine, giving a healthy turn of speed compared to the rather staid prewar Austin saloon cars. Reading this brochure really makes you want to go out and find one of these machines.

Austin 1800 " Balanza" Brochure 1965

This is one of the earliest Dutch language brochures of the Austin 1800. Only the MK1 Austin version in the Netherlands was called the " Balanza" . This brochure explains the principles of this unusual car in detail using schematics and very artistic drawings by Alec Issigonis, the primary designer himself.

Austin A40 Light commercials Brochure

The Austin A40 Devon and Dorset were manufactured by Austin from 1947 to 1952, but the van and pickup derivatives were built until 1957 to be replaced with the A55 Van and Pickup, so this is the predecessor of our own Austin Half ton pickup.  The artwork in this brochure is beautiful and the cars look very smart in these delicate colours. Not at all workmanlike.

Austin Eight and Ten Brochure 1947

Collecting brochures is very interesting. There is a lot of information in such a leaflet. In this brochure you'll find sales information about the Eight and Ten, but not the Twelve or Sixteen.  I know a full range brochure exists, but that was probably a slightly earlier version.

The centre spread shows nicely detailed artwork.
These two cars were very close in design and size. Actually the whole range looked like shrunken or enlarged versions of one car.

Morris Oxford Van and Traveller brochures

Of course you know the Morris Minor van and Traveller, but this is the much larger Half Ton, competing with our Austin Half ton. They are very similar, but also very different in style.
