They shoot Galloways don't they?

Out for my daily walk I happened upon this sad scene. Galloway bulls being shot.
The reason they were being shot on the spot was that they were too uncooperative to be taken away for slaughter elsewhere.
One down, two to go...
After the shot the bull is checked and bled. Still it takes some time for the others to realise the danger.
Too late: this one is for the can
These mighty animals were a great sight in our fields. Now they are exchanged for a less primaeval looking cow. These new cows should be better at keeping the shrubs low with their long horns.
Still it's sad to see our big black bearlike friends go. They were wonderful and beautiful!
