Although Black Betty ran very well, after a long motorway run the exhaust started to blow at the joint between manifold and front pipe. This was partially caused by ham-fisted tightening and crooked fitting of that famous manifold clamp. So we fitted a new clamp and an additional support to fix the exhaust to the engine. On the Mini and 1800 such support is standard and it prevents leaky connections.
