Had a fine day visiting the scrapyard museum. An interesting collection of old cars and some really not in scrap condition. One section of the museum is a re-creation of a fifties/sixties scrapyard. I never knew they used an axe(!) to cut the cars in pieces. The guide demonstrated different techniques used to dismantle old cars without modern machinery. I never realised how close the scrappy was related to the lumberjack!
The rest of the museum collection consisted of a huge collection of Opel cars mostly from the fifties in conditions ranging from barn find to nicely restored or good original condition. There were interesting American cars too, from the sixties Impala to an impressive fourties Oldmobile in beautiful condition.

A random selection of posts about travel and tinkering with mechanical machines. Mostly cars from 1937 to 1999, manufactured in English speaking parts of the world, but also kayaks and sewing machines.
